Laxmi Ghatani Sunar begins every quilt the same way: with a pile of scraps. Not just any scraps — the offcuts from the baby and children's garments she has been stitching all week. Soft cottons in the colours of Kokroma's little ones. She spreads them out, sees what's there, and begins to imagine.
Some of her quilts are strongly symmetrical — a quiet, satisfying order that draws the eye in. Others are freer, more playful, almost childlike in their arrangement, as if the fabrics themselves decided where to go. But look closely at any of them and you'll find it: the asymmetric element. The patch that breaks the pattern. The colour that shouldn't work but does. That deliberate disruption is Laxmi's signature — the moment where order gives way to personality.
Every quilt is composed entirely from scrap and offcut textiles rescued from the Kokroma studio — pre-washed, soft, and ready to use from day one.

We dispatch local orders in Nepal within 2 days and International orders once a week. This usually takes between 8-10 days but with seasonal considerations like Christmas it is best to allow up to 21 days.
Kokroma is a small scale enterprise in Kathmandu and your orders are wrapped with care ensuring your special items are in perfect condition when they arrive. Nothing is automated here, just a team of men and women packing by hand.
All sales are final and not eligible for returns or exchanges except in exceptional circumstances. Contact us here before returning any items including the Order Number, Name and Date of Purchase. Items must be unused and in their original packaging and shipped at the customer's expense.
