The Rarest Quilts in the Collection. Here's Why.
Sadhika Kulung is the head of the Kokroma team. She is the pattern cutter, the designer, and the trainer — the person who sees each artisan as an individual, identifies their strengths, and finds the work that suits their skills and energy. When Kokroma began its quilt-making programme, it was Sadhika who led the workshop: demonstrating techniques, trying new ideas, showing the others what was possible, and providing the imaginative spark that set every other artisan's creativity in motion.
While she was doing all of that — teaching, guiding, inspiring — she was also quietly making quilts of her own. Not many. There wasn't time. But the few she managed to complete are something special: the work of the person who made the whole programme possible, created in the margins of everything else she was doing.
Every quilt is composed entirely from scrap and offcut textiles rescued from the Kokroma studio — pre-washed, soft, and ready to use from day one.
What Makes Sadhika's Quilts Distinctive
- Made by Kokroma's head artisan & trainer — the creative and human heart of the team
- The rarest in the collection — made in the margins of leading and teaching others
- Truly one-of-a-kind — a small number of designs, each a single piece; when it's gone, it's gone
- Zero waste — made entirely from pre-washed Kokroma production offcuts
- Handcrafted in Nepal — by the woman who taught everyone else how
The other artisans' quilts exist because Sadhika made them possible. These quilts exist because, in the middle of all of that, she still found time to make something of her own.
Fabric: 100% Cotton
